Sierra Nevada Fauna
(with a focus on the fauna of Yosemite National Park)
The roughly 750,000 acres of land in Yosemite and 866,000 acres of land in Sequoia Kings Canyon provide habitat to an incredible diversity of biota. This includes over 400 vertebrate species in Yosemite and over 260 vertebrate species in Sequoia Kings Canyon, while the number of invertebrate species is likely in the thousands.
